Day 192: Spotted Fruit? Nut?

Any ideas what this is? It came from a tree, and it’s about 3/4″ in diameter.

Giraffe egg? Have they been migrating through your area?

D’oh! How could I have forgotten about the northward summer migration of giraffus measelus, the Southern Magenta Spotted Giraffe? I have to shoo those damn things out of the yard every morning, to keep them from eating all the leaves at the tops of my trees. Pesky giraffes and their adorable fuzzy little horns and spindly legs, and gentle vegetarian habits! Get off my lawn!

Insect Gall. (there a insect in the middle)

No shit? Oh my god. That’s really freaky.

AIIIIEEEE! I just googled “insect gall” and discovered that most likely there is a WASP IN THAT THING!! I’ve been picking up BEE EGGS! Jesus Christ!

I have to go wash my hands. I feel dirty.
