  1. the world war I flying ace battles the red baron!

    June 20, 2006 :: 10:22 pm

    How fun is this! Somebody rigged up a model airplane with Snoopy and his flying doghouse. I saw a spot about this on Discoveries This Week over the weekend; here is a video of the doghouse in action. [I apologize in advance for a) this being a direct link to a WMV file; and b) the "Who Let the Dogs Out" soundtrack that goes with it. <shiver>]

  2. Come on boys, shave them kiwis!

    May 6, 2006 :: 11:21 pm

    Looking for an easy way to obtain an extra optical inch on your [CARROT]? “The Phillips Bodygroom provides a safe and easy way to trim those scruffy underarms, or those untidy curls on and around your [CARROT], as well as those hard to reach locks on the underside of your [KIWIS] and [PEACH].”

    Come on. You’ve always wanted to get rid of that chinchilla wrapped around your schlong.

    Be sure to watch the music video! [Think Sting in the video for "Wrapped Around Your Finger," only much less sexy. I don't mean to insult you, smooth and hairless Norelco guy, but you just need to realize that there is only one man sexier than Sting, and I'm married to him!]

    And don’t forget to create testicular topiaries in the test drive section.

  3. What do an iguana and the Illuminati have to do with anything?

    May 2, 2006 :: 10:29 pm

    Check out these Polish marketing posters for American movies. Some are obvious, most are quite beautiful, but some are just plain weird.

    This one is for Trading Places. No, really, it is.

  8. done, i think?

    February 10, 2006 :: 8:01 am

    i think i got this redesign mostly accomplished. tonight i changed my header banner image to something i think works better. that is actually a quick & dirty photo of a close up portion of one of my paintings, which i did some “stuff” to in photoshop.

    i got my backgrounds and colors more to my liking as well.

    i’m not sure i’m happy with the font sizes and the way the “about me” section is displaying but i’m pretty sure i’m not going to worry about that right now.

    it is supposed to get cold tomorrow. by “cold” i mean temperatures in the 40s, possibly lower 50s. how sad is this, that in february i’m having to point this out as unusual. we’ve had such a bizarrely warm and dry winter. hey, it’s supposed to rain again tomorrow. i’ll take photos if it does.

    www.churchsigngenerator.com is a site that i wasted probably a good hour at work today looking through. you can make your own church sign!

    here are some of my favorites:

  9. neat websites

    January 3, 2006 :: 4:12 pm

    colorblender.com allows you to play with color sliders, and it automatically calculates a 6-swatch color palette for you. it gives you both the rgb and html equivalents of the chosen colors, and it also gives you options to pick variations based on that color palette. you can even individually edit colors in the palette, and save palettes for future access. i find this tool extremely helpful in my design work… also if you’re doing something like trying to pick colors to paint a room, i can see how handy this would come in.

    these folks built a life-sized game of mousetrap.

    pandora.com is a really cool website that helps you discover music that you may not have heard before, based on your current tastes. you start by entering the name of an artist that you like, and your “personal radio station” immediately starts playing. keep adding artists or songs that you like, and the radio station refines itself to encompass more of what you might like. it plays a blend of the artists and songs that you’ve specifically named, and others you may or may not have heard before. there is a feedback system where you can indicate whether the current song does not fit on your “station” or whether you really like it. pandora adjusts what it plays based on that feedback. i’ve had a lot of fun with it.

  10. want to be disturbed?

    August 7, 2005 :: 7:22 pm

    then check this out… rubber johnny.

    or something a bit on the lighter side, but still disturbing in its own way… unfortunate children’s books.

  11. post secret

    August 5, 2005 :: 9:19 pm

    post your secrets here, for a big public collaborative art project. the one below is pretty funny… but some of them bring tears to my eyes in one short sentence. i thought about sending in one of my own… but do i have any secrets worthy of this site?

  12. demotivators

    July 29, 2005 :: 8:46 pm

    have i mentioned before how much i love the “de-motivational” posters available at despair.com? Some of my favorites:

    Meetings: None of us is as dumb as all of us.
    Motivation: If a pretty poster and a cute saying are all it takes to motivate you, you probably have a very easy job. The kind robots will be doing soon.
    Cluelessness: There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.
    Consulting: If you’re not a part of the solution, there’s good money to be made in prolonging the problem.
    Idiocy: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
    Flattery: If you want to get to the top, prepare to kiss a lot of the bottom.
    Discovery: A company that will go to the ends of the earth for its people will find that it can hire them for about 10% the cost of Americans.
    Humiliation: The harder you try, the dumber you look.
    Delusions: There is no greater joy than soaring high on the wings of your dreams, except maybe the joy of watching a dreamer who has nowhere to land but in the ocean of reality.
    Power: Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. But it rocks absolutely, too.
    Potential: Not everyone gets to be an astronaut when they grow up.
    Indifference: It takes 42 muscles to frown and just 17 to smile, but it doesn’t take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
    Planning: Much work remains to be done before we can announce our total failure to make any progress.
    Loneliness: If you find yourself struggling with loneliness, you’re not alone. And yet you are alone. So very alone.
    Get to Work: You aren’t being paid to believe in the power of your dreams.
